How do I change my stats?

I've been looking all over the board and all over the actual game's commands, and I don't see an option to add anything to my stats, but I keep seeing people say that you can. Any idea?

Edit: I'm also wondering how you sell items.

To add to your stats you need to get to level 10 and defeat the final boss. Doing this will give you one point which you can spend.

You can sell items when you see a merchant. You might be able to sell some things to the merchant or you might not.
